going on vacation without DS

DH and I are going on vacation without DS. Besides packing up everything for my parents to leave him with them, what else should I do. I am obviously leaving a copy of our insurance card, his schedule, etc. But I feel like I remember reading something about a letter we should sign and have notarized that he is under their care.
