1st Christmas

What did you get your LO for their first Christmas? I def want to get him gift but he's only going to be 3 months. I know I can get him things he'll use over the next year but for some reason that seems silly. Why buy it now, have it take extra space, and spend more $ in one shot? Esp. When he has no idea what's going on? Lol

1st Christmas

My DS turned 1 a few days after xmas so we split gifts. He mostly got toys and a few clothes. We put half the gifts away and pulled them out during the year.

I would go crazy since your LO can't even open the gifts. Just get a developmental toy. The grandparents got tons so we only bought one thing for each (Christmas and Birthday)

Re: 1st Christmas

Our dd was only a week at her first Christmas. We just got her a few inexpensive baby toys (like rattles) and some books. I think my DH got her batman socks and a jets onesie, lol! Maybe we spent $50 altogether, if even that. It was nice to have some stuff under the tree for her, though. Made Christmas fee like a family thing, and she was included as part of that!

1st Christmas

My DS will be a month and a half. We are getting him a personalized bookcase(useful and cute), a few little toys and Yankees onesies. I wouldn't feel right not getting him anything esp while my DD has a huge pile of gifts. Laugh& Learn house is a great idea!

1st Christmas

DS was 7 months his 1st Christmas. The biggest hit that year was the V Tech Sit to Stand alphabet train.

1st Christmas

DD was 8 months her first christmas and we still only got her 3 things. I would get a few things just to have something for him to open but I wouldn't go nuts. An oball, a lamaze toy, stacking cups, a crinkly book etc are all things he may enjoy at that age. You could also get a few small things he'll like once he's learning to sit up like the fp ring stacker and block set or a music table (you can use it without the legs at first).

Re: 1st Christmas

I barely got DD anything - she was too little to understand. I think I did 2 toys and 2 outfits.

My bro on the other hand bought her every toy ever made for 9-18m olds.

1st Christmas

She is getting the laugh and learn house, stacker cups, the hungry caterpillar book, this dog that was recommended on here, her first ornament, and probably some bibs for her stocking. She'll like the boxes and crinkle toys more than she'll like anything else.

my dd was 5 months on Christmas day. I placed her in the bumbo seat on the floor and had her sit in the middle while we all opened gifts. I got her a lot of baby toys and mostly toys that would range 6-9m etc... it was fun to just have her play with some wrapping paper

Like you, DS was only about 2 1/2 months old his first Christmas. We spent very little and got him a couple of special Christmas outfits (he had two costume changes that day, lol) and a couple of soft, almost lovie like toys. One of which he still loves at a year old now (it's a Melissa and Doug red and blue crab rattle). We didn't go crazy the first Christmas, especially bc we knew my family would be getting him a lot.

Re: 1st Christmas

The first year my dd was only 4 months old. We got her some clothes and toys she would use later on. My parents and brother got her every toy under the sun and they just sat in a toy box until she was older. I like the idea of the fisher price home. My girls both loved that starting around 7/8 months.
