Re: baby girl name Calissie
I think it's a beautiful name.
I am named after a character from All My Children (though she had a small part so most people don't recall). It's a fairly known name, yet there are many spellings so I always have to spell my name. It has never been bothersome to me - so it takes 5 extra seconds to give someone my name....what's the big deal? If you love the name, use it. Chances are you DC will have to spell her name no matter what you name her because there are various spellings to many, many names.
eta I've never read/seen GOT so I had no idea where the name came from. For someone like me it sounded very unique.

I have never heard of this name nor do i know what game of thrones is but i think it's really pretty! I would have pronounced it "ka-LISS-ee" though.

As long as you don't mind the character references, go for it.

I would so do it. I want to name my dd Sansa but dh doesn't want to. I like Calisee personally but I'm also a huge GOT fan both show and book.

My son is named after a character in a book/movie, which is based on a true story. I researched the legend prior to using the name. People who know the movie, know the name, other than that people usually comment that his name is so unique and where did I find it. That's when I explain the origin.

Re: baby girl name Calissie
If this name exists beyond the character, which I believe you said it does, then it wouldn't bother me. I would use the traditional spelling (whatever that is) but that's just my style.
As far as being "named after the character" I think there's a huge difference between hearing a name on a show and liking it vs loving a certain character so much that you name your child after them. Everyone finds their baby name somewhere, I wouldn't say you named your baby after wherever/whoever you first heard their name from, kwim?
I have a fairly uncommon name that a big celeb also has and I'm occasionally asked if I'm named after her. I find that somewhat insulting since I'm definitely not named after her (not that she's a bad person or anything but my parents just would never do that).
If you love the name, use it. I wouldn't feel the need to say LO is "named after the tv show". I'd say "Actually it's an ancient Greek name that means (fill in blank" and we think it's beautiful.

wait a minute.. how do you not know what Game of Thrones is? i need to talk to you about this!!
to the OP - i think the name is pretty, but agree with adjusting the spelling to help proper pronunciation. Just be prepared for constantly explaining it to people!

I was going to say this, word for word. Also, keep in mind that while GOT is very mainstream right now that won't always be the case. The tv show will eventually go off the air and while the book may be considered a classic some day it shouldn't be a problem because it's a pretty name. Names like Atticus, Jo, and Madeline aren't shunned so no reason why Calissie should be any different.

ITA. My DDs are named Avery and Harper and everyone asks if they were named for the character on Greys Anatomy (which I don't watch) - I figured in a few years no one will make the connection! If you like the name then go for it!

I don't watch got and when I saw the name i thought it looked and sounded beautiful. By the time your girl grows up, game of thrones won't be an issue. I think many kids are actually named after characters or celebrities their mom liked.

Same here, I might try a spelling that would be more obvious

Honestly, I think people will pronounce it incorrectly and your daughter will forever be correcting people.
this. once i saw that you wanted to name her after the GOT character i knew how you wanted to pronounce it, but the way you are spelling it, if i wasn't familiar with the show or how you wanted to pronounce it, i would say it differently.

i have to mention, i named my daughter Isabella and there were some people who asked me if I named her after the Twilight movies (which i never saw) and i told them no. At the end of the day, its your child, so if you like the name, go for it.
