A few Disney questions....
My MIL is graciously taking us to Disney in January for a few days (it's not a long trip at all, going to visit her mom for 1.5 days, then disney for about 3 days {2 full days, 2 half days}). I haven't been to Disney in over 10 years and I don't really know how it works....
Can anyone recommend a meal plan they used? What parks are a must see with a 2 year old (i know he's little, but he loves mickey)? What little secrets can you share?

We just got back from Disney with my 4 and 2 yr old. We went on pretty much everything!
Take advantage of getting a fast pass so you don't have to wait on line for a long time. My 2 yr old would get antsy.
We got my 2 yr old DS a backpack leash. This way he didn't always have to stay in the stroller, but he is a wanderer.
For that age MK is the best. We did have fun in Epcot, but too many shows and only a few rides. They did love the Nemo ride there though. We enjoyed walking around the countries and the bonus was able to drink there. LOL
HS was the least fav. Long shows and not as much to do for that age.
AK is also fun bc animals to look at. Not too many rides for them either though.
For 2 it's tough to sit through some long shows.
We didn't do the meal plan. Just packed a cooler bag with lunch, snacks and drinks.
We did a few character meals too. The boys loved that, but if it was just my 2 yr old I don't know if I would've done it.
We did 3 days in MK, 1 in the other 3.
Never did the hopper either. Wasn't worth the extra cost for us since we weren't staying on property.
Also, the more days you stay the cheaper it gets. We did a 6 day pass and was only a few dollars more than 4 and 5.

I would definitely do Magic Kingdom and if you wanted a second park - Animal Kingdom.
We stayed offsite so we didn't do a meal plan - we carried some snacks and bought lunch at the parks if we were there at lunchtime and did a few character meals.
I would recommend doing a character meal with Mickey Mouse - there's one at the Contemporary HOtel - Chef MIckeys that people rave about and one at Animal Kingdom, Tusker House, which we went to and enjoyed a lot. Since your DC is 2, they are free at the character buffets.

Chef Mickeys is tough to get reservations for, but keep trying every day. If not Mickey is also at Tusker House in AK. I was able to get lunch reservations last minute the night b4 bc something opened up. Never got into Chef Mickeys and tried for months.
Also was able to get Hollywood and Vine, but that's all Disney Jr characters in HS.

A few Disney questions....
I don't think you can get a meal plan if you are not staying on property, but I could be wrong.
The best parks for that age are Mk & AK. Pack cooler bags with drinks, snacks and lunch because you are allowed to bring that in with you and it helps to keep costs down. I had no idea you could do this when we went in June. We were at AK and saw so many families eating packed lunches. So the next day at MK we did the same.
ETA: You can only get a fast pass every two hours, so choose them wisely.

My kids enjoy the shows and parades more than the actual rides. I would do full day MK, full day AK and half day Epcot and half day HS. My boys loved AK even more than MK but they LOVE dinosaurs and animals. They did no want t leave Dinoland there.
Epcot is the one place I don't think you need to get there early to enjoy everything. I would do a character breakfast on that day.
