Being induced tonight and terrified
I'm being induced tonight at 630 and I'm so scared!
Not of birth itself but my thoughts keep going to what if something happens to her? What if she doesn't respond well to the meds? What if something happens to me??
I know plenty are induced everyday but I'm sooooo scared of the above. I've heard all the horror stories of inductions but I'm also not someone dead set on Vb (no offense to anyone who is). My attitude this whole pregnancy has been I don't care how she gets here as long as she's safe and im safe that's all that matters. They are starting with cervadil tonight and then pitocin morning. I can handle the pain that is not even a thought. My thoughts just keep going to the what if's and that's what scares me
At 12 weeks when we were told something might genetically be wrong or she might have a congetital heart defect (which finally at 22 we we were given the all clear that the tons of tests we had done were negative) and then at 35 weeks ending up in hospital with threatened preterm labor, I would have done anything to get to this point. Now that it's here I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. When we saw the specialist at 12 weeks before the cvs based on my bloodwork alone and the 12 week scan results we were told there was a 10%chance nothing would be wrong. Based on all results and my heart I know she's perfect but that number had stuck with me in the back out my head this whole pregnancy and had made me an anxiety ridden mess.
Please please please send us as many prayers as possible over the next few days, this board helped me immensely get through a very rough part of my pregnancy, and I need all of your help again. Tia

Wishing you a smooth induction.
I was induced with Cervadil a few years back with DD and it was a very smooth process. They told me it would take 12 hours to even start contractions, but I was in labor within just a couple of hours. The whole process, from when they administered the cervadil until the moment she was born was just about 12 hours.

Hoping that occurs. I'm already 75% or more effaced and a fingertip ad have been having contractions off and on for 5 weeks! So hoping the cervadil jump
Starts to where my body takes over. Still scared though. Can't wait To meet her

Everything will be ok! Many women have successfully gone through an induction and had perfectly healthy babies. I was induced twice because of gestational diabetes. With both inductions they gave cervadil first, which did nothing, and then pitocin. The contractions under pitocin are usually very harsh ( at least for me). I labored with my first daughter 22 hours and pushed for two. My second daughter I labored for 13 hours and pushed for 20 minutes. You will do great! Good luck.

This is probably where I was too. I was effaced, head was very low, but I wasn't dilated. The night I went in for the induction, the doc said I was about 1 cm. The nurses said I was having contractions, too, but I wasn't feeling them. I think the cervadil just kicked it all in high gear. Good luck!

just keep the thought of your LO in your arms in your head and nothing else. You can't stress or worry over something that you don't know or you have no control over. Easier said then done I know, but still. Sending thoughts and prayers!!!!!

I remember your story from when I first joined the board and I am so happy you will have your perfect baby girl in your arms soon!
I can't blame you for having anxiety after all you have been through and I think it's normal. Lots of prayers sent to you!

Prayers for you!!! I had an induction with my DD, and from start to finish it was less than 4 hours, you just never know how things are going to go. Think about that beautiful baby girl that you will soon hold in your arms, everything else just wont matter after shes here

Good luck! I had the cervadril ( was 2 before) and they took it out 12 hours later I was still 2 but cervix was ripe...15 mins after they took out cervadril my water broke ( over the toilet!!) and she was born within 1 hour 45 mins!
You are in good hands at Southampton. Hope everything goes smoothly for you!
If you can buy some movies and watch on iPad or computer....or read. Do something to take your mind off ( this was my plan but had her during sandy so no power or Internet!)
Your sweet baby girl is almost here!!
