Stressing SA!!!!
So this morning I went to drop off my dh's semen sample and there really wasn't much in there. I've noticed that when he cums (sorry tmi) it's not as much as it used to be. I'm worried that he's the one with the issue here. If there's something with me, I can handle it a lot better. He's a nervous wreck about everything!!! Agh stressing this test. How long before the results are in usually?

Just so you know when we had our first IUI, my DH supplied his sample at the Drs. office and when I saw the cup, I was FREAKING OUT because I thought NO WAY was that enough and they were gonna cancel the IUI. It was literally a spits worth!!
After washing, he had 70 Million perfect swimmers.
So don't worry about the quantity of semen. Has no correlation to the quantity of sperm.
a for how long it takes to get results, I don't remember from his SA. I think they told me at my next RE visit

ye ITA regarding the quant. my DH actually explained that its TV/movies that skew our understanding of cum LOL. what actually comes out is a little bit and has no correlation to the count and motility. so don't stress.
I think it takes a few days, if for IUI they know right away as they prepare it within hrs to be injected.

Thanks. You girls made me feel better. Between the SA this morning and anticipation of HSG this afternoon, I think I might have a nervous breakdown!!!!

Don't stress !!! It looks like such a small amount! Even when they hand you the vile back for the IUI, I was like there's 40 million in THAT? lol

Same here. It's not the volume that counts it's the little swimmers he has. DH never produced a lot. In fact I worried each IUI and said are you sure we can go through with this?! Each one he had a great count(thank god). Now I am prego with twins from my 6th IUI. Don't stress too much!

I feel better! Hope we get the results back soon.
I also can check the HSG off the list - uterus looks good and tubes are clear. Mtg with re in 2 weeks to go over all the results and get a game plan going for next cycle. Anything else that you girls can think of that maybe we skipped? Should I still have any other testing done this cycle?

It's funny that you posted this because me and DH just went through this last week we both looked at the cup and said omg is that enough??! It ended up being 3.5 mL and he had 153 million spermies in there!! Looks are definitely deceiving so dont freak out. The norm is at least 2ml. When I dropped off DH's SA the women in the lab laughed and said that everyone who walks in the door asks the samething! Gl!!
ETA: idk what lab you brought it to but I brought DH's to stony brook and they fax the results to your doc that same day! My doctor called me with the results the very next day!
