"Must Pack Items for Hospital Bag"
Any items that one may not necessarily think to pack that were lifesavers for you? I have all the obvious- pj's, comfy clothes, toiletries, coming home outfit for baby, etc.
Also, this is a planned c-section (2nd child) if that info is important. TIA! :)

Re: "Must Pack Items for Hospital Bag"
I am having a repeat C-section in early Jan as well so I am interested in this as well. I am planning on nursing so I am also bringing lanolin and my boppy.

I didn't have a c-section, but I found that I didn't need much other than what you mentioned.

A BIG zip up hoodie (my normal one didn't fit because of the IV in my arm). Make up- I know it sounds vain, but putting it on made me feel human again. The boppy (I didn't bring it originally and had my DH go home and get it)

Re: "Must Pack Items for Hospital Bag"
there wasnt much we needed - the hospital had it all
we wanted to have dd footprints in her baby book, so we brought that along and gave it to the l&d nurse when we arrived. she had it out and then they took the prints for the hospital records she put them in the book too. not a necessity but glad we did it
the only thing they didnt have (which varies by hospital) but at LIJ new hyde park did not have pacifiers...so this time i will be packing one
have a camera/phone and charger and comfie clothing

Pads (I hated the ones in the hospital), cell phone/camera chargers. Aside from my clothes and toiletry stuff, the hospital gave me everything else I needed.

smart idea with the nail file - mittens come in handy too
in terms of lanolin, the hospital gave little mini tubes of it (it was actually the madela brand but it worked well). i took a ton of them - they came in handy to stick in my purse and diaper bag so i could use if after bfing dd while we were out.

Re: "Must Pack Items for Hospital Bag"
Those Colgate Wisp things... I got sick with the meds they gave me preparing for my C section... And I couldn't get up bc of the epidural so they helped get the nasty taste out of my mouth. Also, after my C, I could get up for 24 hours so they were really handy. Would have never thought of them myself. Someone on here recommended packing them!

Re: "Must Pack Items for Hospital Bag"
A robe! I never wear one at home but was SO happy to have it in the hospital. Especially since I wound up nursing in the NICU and felt better having a robe over my shoulders.
Lip gloss was another life saver. And candy/ snacks for the nighttime after everyone leaves...breast feeding left me ravenous in the beginning.
ETA: last time I had an unplanned C, and this time will be a planned C.
