High Fructose Corn Syrup
How much of an effort do you make to avoid this? If any?

I have been trying to avoid during pregnancy, but it's so hard. It's in so many products. I was just eating some brownies and realized I forgot to look at the ingredients and when I did it was there. UGH I had already eaten 2 brownies. DH and I went out to breakfast today and I had pancakes. Now I'm thinking of course it was in the syrup if not the pancakes too!

You are trying, that is all that matters! Its nearly impossible to avoid it all together, but maybe try to avoid it at home and then you can have it here and there when eating out and it won't be as bad, you know?

You're right. I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing! Thanks

Re: High Fructose Corn Syrup
I don't actively try to avoid it, pregnant or not, but I do read labels and if I have 2 options and 1 has HFCS then I buy the other product. If there is no other easy option, I don't worry about it.

Probably a good strategy since it's so hard to avoid entirely! I'll try this too. Thanks!

High Fructose Corn Syrup
I make a hugh effort to avoid it even when I am not pregnant. Occasionally, I will give in and buy something that contains it-usually these items are a treat--like the vanilla tootsie rolls I need to buy while food shopping yesterday.

My "cheat" food is red vines. I think they are 100% corn syrup, lol. But sometimes you just gotta go for it.

Same here. In general, I eat well so I am not overly concerned about it.
