follow up question/poll on orthopedic doctor (need opinions)
so we went to dh's ortho here is his bio:
specializes in orthopedic surgery of the hand and upper extremity for both pediatric and adult patients. His practice focuses on peripheral nerve surgery, repair of birth and traumatic hand and upper extremity injuries, microsurgery and reimplantation.
He is also the one who had some publication on the specific type of fracture my son has
Anyway he recommended surgery  Im blown away we really weren't expecting that. I understand the break and he pointed everything out. He was going to send son for another xray...to prove to us that he is certain that the bones have shifted more since Monday...we said no...no need to put my son thru more xrays to prove to me they are worse...I have had a feeling of that anyway.
He is scheduled to go in Tuesday morning so if I decide to get a 2nd opinion I have to do it Monday as well as go in for pre-op
Should we go for a second opinion?

I am of the feeling a second opinion can't hurt, but if you trust the first doctor then I would have him perform the surgery. I would put a call into your child's pediatrician and see what they have to say. I am so sorry that your DC is injured.

I would get a second opinion. Your son is young you need to make sure the right course of action is taken so he can heal properly. My uncle broke his elbow growing up, I'm not sure if he did or didn't have surgery but to this day he can't straighten out his arm
A second opinion can't hurt

I would get another opinion... Just to be sure.
Maybe do the X-ray too. It's very little radiation, and may put your mind to ease.
Is he just having the bone fixed, or peripheral nerve surgery too? Most people who I know who do nerve surgeries are neurosurgeons.
