Anatomy Scan for Twins

We're scheduled for our anatomy scan for our twins on 11/4 -- would someone just give me a "debriefing" about what it will entail?

Just wondering how long it may take, if we'll be able to determine gender(s) and anything else I should be prepared for.

It's just an ultrasound where they basically check all the different body parts of the baby (babies) to make sure everything looks good! It depends how long it takes on factors such as the position of the baby and if they can see everything properly. I'd imagine it's longer for twins since they have to do everything twice and have to wait for each to get in a good position. And yes, they will be able to tell you the genders, assuming the babies get into position!

i havent had twins, but with DD it is an external sonogram. it took 45+ minutes with just one bc they need to get certain pictures/measurements and you never know if the baby will be in good position.
i imagine with twins it could take 1+ hours

but its fun to see the baby on screen and see all the body parts

Over an hour!! Just had mine yesterday and we have to go back to get the rest done. The likelihood of them getting everything done at this appt is slim. We got about 90% on each baby. You will definitely be able to find out the genders if you want

It was a loooong external sonogram and a quick internal to check my cervix. We didn't find out the genders, but you should be able to find out if the babies are in a good position. Be prepared to stay for about 1-1.5 hours. They let me take a break between babies bc I was starting to feel lightheaded laying there for so long.
