Advice ...South Nassau or LIJ
Hi,
My DH are starting to TTC. We just moved back to Long Island and I am looking for a new OB-GYN. I live very, very close to South Nassau (5 minutes) so I thought that would be ideal. My dilemmna is that although SN is close to home it has been stressed to me by numerous people that LIJ in Manhasset is stellar and I would basically 'be crazy' not to deliver there.
1) Has anyone delivered at South Nassau? Any 'reviews'?
2) Any recommendations for doctors affiliated with South Nassau? If so, why do you recommend them?
3) Has anyone used a Dr. Trangone in Manhasset? Any thoughts? He came highly recommended to me by a few friends.
TIA!!!

Advice ...South Nassau or LIJ
Hi! Keep in mind that the hospital in Manhasset is part of the North shore LIJ health system. So techinically it's north shore Manhasset and LIJ in new Hyde park. Both are part of the north shore health system. Both are excellent. I actually work in LIJ but I am delivering in north Shore Manhasset as that is where my OB goes. I also live 5 minutes from SN. I do not know much about SN OB services but I have not hear anything bad. I prefer to be in a large teaching facility but that is my preference.
I actually go to Dr. Trongone's practice. He has an associate now Dr. Petrocelli and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the practice.
Good luck to you.

I also go to Dr. Trongone and have nothing but good things to say. I haven't met the new doctor yet but my friend has and liked him. I changed doctors after getting pregnant with dd and had a wonderful experience with the office and the hospital in Manhasset. My stay there was wonderful. We'll be moving to Suffolk before #2 comes but I pretty much refuse to change doctors.

Advice ...South Nassau or LIJ
I delivered at LIJ in NHP recently and had my DS at Manhasset. Beautiful hospitals, but the whole labor and delivery sucked(long story).Postpartum unit was great(food not too good). If both my babies weren't in nicu I would of went home on day 3 after my csection.
