Moby wrap
Can you use this for a hip carrying position? How about a front facing position?

I'm not sure, but if you search on You Tube, there are a ton of videos that show different positions.
I've used it for hip carrying, (based on a you tube video), but don't know if its intended to be used that way. But it worked for us, no problems.

Yes you can use it for the hip carry...my husband and DD both like that one a lot.

He's 5 months and already 28" and almost 19 pounds - is the moby made for bigger babies?

I know you can use it to about 35 pounds, though my cousin has a bigger baby and switched earlier to the Ergo and now again at age 1 to the Tula.

Yes, you can use it for hip carry. Forward facing carrying is never recommended in any carrier. It is really not good for the baby.

I would NOT get a Moby at 19lbs. Bc the material is stretchy, it will pull on your back. I stopped using mine around 15lbs. I moved on to woven wraps and soft structures carriers.
If you want baby to face out, learn to back carry. Babies LOVE being high on your back looking out at the world. It's so safe and secure.

I stopped using the moby when he was around 3 months. Right now Brian is about 19lbs and I couldn't imagine him in the moby. I use the beco, which also has the option to back carry. Although me (and him) prefer front.
