DD after infertility...anyone been through this and feel like this?

Not sure what board is the best to post this. I know not everyone on the parenting board went through infertility and I don't want to insult anyone on the infertility board bc I do in fact now have my amazing, beautiful, healthy dd....

It took me a long time and 7 medicated cycles to have dd including 4 iuis and 2 ivfs. I know how blessed I am to have my dd and I was finally successful but lately I have been feeling resentful I went through it all. I've met a lot of new moms and every single one got pregnant on the first try or were on the lets just see what happens plan and got pregnant right away. Some pushing 40 no less.

I think maybe I'm just getting anxious about what it will be like when I try for number 2 whenever that will be. I appreciate dd so much more after everything I went through but the feelings are still so raw of the heartbreak we went through while trying.

Last week I found out someone who did ivf for their first got preg with their 2nd after two cycles of tying naturally.

Can anyone relate to this?

DH & I are TTC #2 and we are also struggling with infertility again....and hear about other women just getting pregnant on their first try!
My sister even told me (knowing what i had been through, more than a year of TTC wqith infertility) that she and my BIL just "winged it" and they didn't even know they had to "do it" on certain days, they just had sex once, ONCE in that ofew day fertile period and she got pregnant. Life is so unfair.
It makes me a little resentful that others have it so easy, but what may seem easier to us, may not be for them.
At the end of the day, I don't let it get to me and I just keep thinking we will have our second child one day when its meant to happen.

Sorta.
First, there are plenty of ladies on here who have struggled with infertility. Not everyone is so vocal with their difficult journeys but the feelings may be shared with yours. I think your "raw" feelings are normal, especially post partum. I was still in shock for months after having a baby, that it was actually mine. If youve spent any amount of time struggling with infertility, one year or four years, you're exposed to those negative mind sets and I'm sorrys, one after the other. They can't just go away. So give yourself some time. For me, it stung more after I had a failure while I was struggling. Ive learned to focus on my blessing when i feel those thoughts trying to make their way in my mind. Many women still don't understand the difficulties of infertility or loss because they're not educated enough or have any experience with it. Second, don't be so sure that you will need IVF or other treatments for number 2. You will be very surprised to learn that there are numerous ladies that struggled for years to get pregnant, numerous IVFs and then got pregnant naturally with their second. You're body changes. And really stranger more ironic things have happened in infertility! So try to think positive about future pregnancies and the unknown. It's all so scary and overwhelming. Try to enjoy the now with your girl! Chat Icon

I got preggo with my second naturally second cycle too after IVF for the first. That's why they are do close together.

I hear the opposite. More people at work are having IVF twins (though it's a secret and they say twins run in the families). People going through IF don't talk about it!!! And yes, there are some fertile people out there... And they talk more.

I also went through IF with my DS, I can only hope that when the time comes and we TTC#2 that I don't have to go back to the RE. My cycles are short and and irregular so I am hoping that if I end up having issues it can be resolved by my OB. I am grateful however to have my DS and just enjoying him for now.
