Back to work
This is my last week of maternity leave and aside from feeling sad about leaving DD, I'm also feeling anxious about being able to get up, get ready, get to work on time, BF before work, pumping during the day, etc.
Can any BTDT Moms shares some tips on how to make it work?
TIA!

Back to work
the key for me is to prepare everything the night before. And it will get better once you get into a routine. Good luck!

Back to work
don't worry - after a few weeks of being back it gets much easier and you will get into a routine! Best advice is to get anything ready the night before that you can so you are not rushing in the morning. Get your own clothes / lunch ready. Lay out clothes for baby and get together all the bottles or any diapers /wipes etc you need to bring.

Re: Back to work
im not going to lie, the beginning is tough, but it gets easier
Since you have this week home, i would start the routine this week. get up and get dd up as if you were going to work. i found that this helped me so my first day back i wasnt panicking and rushing around it also may help you figure out if DD needs to go to bed a little earlier or later to make it work with your work routine
in terms of pumping at work, schlepping the pump and milk to/from work got annoying at times...but i have to say, closing my door and being uninterrupted for 20+ minutes was amazing. i actually enjoying pumping at work to get some quiet time lol
good luck

Re: Back to work
Shower at night. I would shower and shave my legs at night after DD was sleeping and just put my hair up in a ponytail for bed. The next morning i just had to apply makeup and style my hair. I would try to wake up before DD did, so I would be all ready when she woke up and have time to give her a bottle, get her dressed for daycare etc. I would also have all bottles made for daycare and her bag packed the night before.

Re: Back to work
I actually find it's easier to get out of the house for work than it is on the weekend! I get bottles/sippy cups ready the night before. I get up first to get ready for work, and if DS wakes up then, DH takes care of him. Then once I'm ready, I take care of DS so DH can get ready. More often than not, though, DS doesn't wake up until I'm already ready to go.
You'll figure it out. It may take a few days to adjust, but it's possible!

Re: Back to work
I'm not bdtd but I'm starting back on Thursday My plan is to have all my stuff, clothes, purse, lunch, etc. ready the night before... also going to shower at night. I will also get up an hour earlier than I normally get up for work, I used to get up at 6:30 but now I will set my alarm for 5:30 so I can pump & wash & dry all the parts & get my cooler ready for the day, and have time to get dressed & ready & say goodbye to the baby before I leave the house no later than 7:10 I'm also going to have to discipline myself to go to sleep no later than 10pm. I am so dreading this. I hope I can make it work.
Good luck to you!! Everything will be fine.

Re: Back to work
Good luck mommies!! I go back 2 weeks from today and am dreading it. I plan on doing what others have suggested, getting as much done the night before. I'm going to be leaving super early so we'll see how it goes. One day at a time.
