Disney just cancelled our cruise
But on a brighter note, they offered us a full refund and a free cruise. Woot, Woot I will take that.

YEARS ago, my mom had booked a Disney cruise (when they first started their own line, not the Big Red Boat or whatever it was before) - they had to push it back because they were pushing back the first trip. They upgraded us to added days both on the cruise AND in DW, AND they upgraded all of our rooms to suites. If Disney has to do something like that they DEF make up for it!

When was your cruise for, and on which boat?
Nevermind, I just read on another site the Magic was cancelled since it's not done from it's dry dock. Had a feeling that was going to happen. Good deal for you though! Hope you don't lose out on your airfare though!

We were supposed to leave on Sunday, I was already packed and the kids were so disappointed. We are rebooked for January, we lose 1 night but hey it is free now.
As far as airfare goes they say they are going to pay the cost of the fees to change the airfare. Good deal all around.

Oh wow....so soon?
I can see being dissapointed....but to get a Disney cruise at the cost of just changing the airfare...I'd get over it & plan start planning another trip.

I am over it, I am actually happy that I am getting a free cruise. Plus, my daughter fell last night and needed stitches so no swimming for 2 weeks. So being on a cruise would have totally sucked. Everything happens for a reason. 
ETA - they are paying the costs associated with the change of airfare fees. Now the only thing the trip cost me is my original airfare. I was just sad that they cancelled 2 days before we were to leave and my kids were hysterical crying.

Not the OP, but they are behind in schedule from the refurbishment. They are blaming it on weather during the transatlantic crossing, but I'm sure they just put too much on their plate in too little time.

I will say that I am very sorry that you lost out on the cruise, but I love your outlook on it. The timing might have worked in your favor since your daughter got hurt.
Disney is always very good about compensating their guests, especially when Disney is at fault.
I'm glad you've seen the silver lining and I hope you have a blast on the free cruise!
