Need carseat hellp FAST!!!!!

Hi Everyone, this is not Meliissa, it's her Mom She's still in the hospital and her and the baby are doing great, she will post all info this weekend. We would appreciate some help ASAP. We took the cover of Caiden's Graco snugride infant carseat to have clean for the baby, and can't get the seat belt straps back together !!!! If some one knows how, please contact right away. Also, does anyone know the difference of the Graco infant seats as to quality and ratings being sold in different stores, with such a big price difference, is the quality affected or is it just the store selling them, not the safe seat, but the regular ones. Thank You!!!

I am almost positive that you are not supposed to remove the straps at all, just the cover.
I would call Graco and speak to them directly. I bet they can help you with this.

Unfortunately I don't know about the straps, but wanted to say that ALL car seats have to meet government issued standards. So I would say that the big price differences do not compromise the safety. I think those prices affect the quality of the covers, fabric, etc. I would totally get the less expensive one and feel comfortable about it.

We're definately thinking about Melissa and can't wait till she gets home and posts some pics

OH, I just thought of something. Maybe if you go to your local police station, they can help you. I've heard that they can check to make sure the seat is secured properly and all that good stuff. Hope this helps, even if only a little

Congrats Grandma! But I have to agree with what Michelle said. I was reading instructions on my but it isn't a Graco and it says NOT to remove the straps. See what Graco says. As far as a difference in price I think it has to do with patterns. I think the older the pattern the cheaper it is and if they are going to discontinue it.

I honestly can't remember of we've taken the straps out or not though I thought I did clean the cover
And I thought to adjust the hhieght level they were removed form the back.

Regarding the difference in prices, I always found the same models in other stores to be very close in price. Graco has a new infant seat out called SafeSeat maybe the Snugrides are at a lower price because of this?

Hmmm...never taken the straps off...but did have to unhook them to clean the cover only a week after the baby was born...diaper blowout if I recall...

I went to the graco website, and you can download the various manuals for the seats...even older ones.

Here's the link...just pick the model...I bet if you don't know it that the strap instructions are all the same.

I'm sure you are able to undo the straps so you can make them higher or lower in the seat. My seat is packed away so I am no help, sorry

You can bring it to the fire department and they should be able to help you and the police department (I believe). That's what my friend did.
