Recommend your tablet for toddlers

My DS (2) is constantly trying to take my DD's kindle away from her. We really need to get him something but I'm not sure a kindle is the best thing for him. I wonder if there is a more age appropriate tablet for him? He knows how to swipe and select, so it has to be touchscreen.

I was thinking the Leap Pad but do you have to buy additional games? One of the things I like about the kindle is that there are tons of free or cheap games.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste money on something "age appropriate" when he will still probably want the kindle anyway. My 2 year old DD is completely proficient in using my iPad. I got a kid friendly case and put a bunch of apps on it for her. There's no point in getting her a kid tablet of her own now, bc I know she will still just want the iPad...if anything, I need a new iPad now! Chat Icon

In the long run, the kindle will last longer and be much cheaper. Invest in a great case and you are good to go. I do like the leap pad, but the games and apps are expensive and DS only plays with it when he forgets to charge his Kindle.

agreed!

My 2yo DS has a kindle. It has tons of "games" and apps appropriate for a 2yo. He loves tracing his letters and doing letter sounds with some apps! ANd honestly, we just have light case on it and that thing has taken a beating and still holds up great!!! So for the price I dont think you can beat it!
