Baby acne
My DD is almost 3 weeks old and broke out with a case of acne. Has anyone else's little one gone through this? How long does it last?

DS only had if a few weeks and then cleared up on his own. I remember at the time he cleared up I started breaking out. LOL!
That eventually cleared up too. Darn hormones!

Yes! It's very common. DD is 10 weeks and probably got it around the same time as yours. Dr said it should go away in 8-10 weeks but it took less time. We didn't put anything on it. She still occasionally gets some spots on her face and we leave those alone too.
Just FYI, it might spread beyond her face. Don't get alarmed if that happens. I thought DD had a rash on her neck and upper chest. Nope. Baby acne.

DS had that starting at about 1w and lasted about 2 weeks. It cleared up on its own.

Thanks girls. I figured there's not much to do about it, but glad to hear it's normal.
On a side note, I've struggled with acne and I don't have great skin. I'm wondering if baby acne is a sign of future acne problems.

We used aquaphor and still do. My dd's cheeks get very dry which contributes to the baby acne. Her face completely cleared up but now its coming back because she likes to blow raspberries non stop so she covers herself with spit.

DD had it for a couple of weeks. Finally we got some hand and face wipes by Johnson and Johnson and started using them every night and in 3 days it was pretty much gone.
Still at 7 weeks if we forget to use them, she breaks out a little.
ETA: unfortunately I did read that if DC has bad baby acne it could be a sign of bad skin as they get older.

Lasted few weeks. Washed my babys face once a day with mild baby wash or even warm water...cleared up within a week after I started.
