LI IVF vs RSoNY

Can I get some comparisons?
I was a pt of RS- liked the office but not the main RE there.. wondering if Brenner at LI IVF is similar to them? I know both are high volume practices..
Is one better than the other?

Yes, I'm considering leaving my new RE.. Not the greatest experience so far.. I would hate to go back to RS but I am wasting time sitting around in the new practice. No action since beg of Aug and still no cycle in sight that he wants to start me.. Just getting annoyed!

For what it's worth, I never feel like I'm at a high volume practice with Brenner. Though the Melville office gets crowded, everyone still knows my name just by seeing my face - and I never give cause to stand out. I have loved every minute of my experience there. I compare it to north shore where I feel no one cared about me personally.

Re: LI IVF vs RSoNY

I was a patient of RS and am now a patient of LI IVF. I see dr kukkonen and for me even before I got my bfp I liked Li ivf so much more. I feel like I get so much more attention and all my concerns are addressed. Fm if you have any questions!

Re: LI IVF vs RSoNY

You know, I had a HIDEOUS time at RSofNY, but I did my retrieval and will be doing my transfer there, and their lab and nursing staff were EXCELLENT.

If I need a second opinion and they promise to go right to IVF (barring any insurance restrictions) I may consider going back.

LI IVF vs RSoNY

At LIIVF, all the nurses and the receptionists know me by name. I've always felt comfortable there and feel that despite the large size of the office, I'm not just a number.

Best of luck!!

Re: LI IVF vs RSoNY

I honestly believe your bad experience with RSofNY is because you go to mineola. Have you ever gone to the other offices?

I go to west islip. They all know me. I also go to stonybrook sometimes and they know me there too. I always feel good there. At mineola, I never liked it. They got my blood work results mixed up with someone else's. They just seem to be a bit scatterbrained there. I also felt like a number when going to that office.

Brenner was quick to give the donor egg speech. Just be wary of that with your Dx and numbers. I got it from him at 32 when my previous (2nd) retrieval had yielded 15 eggs and 2 perfect 8-cell embies for transfer on day 3. I was not a fan of either of those practices, but I hear great things about Dr. Zapantis, who left East Coast to start his own thing.

Dr Z is great. I feel like he is real attentive. He had been getting busier lately, but that's a good thing. I really feel like he works really hard to get his patients pregnant, and he is compassionate without sugar coating what us going on.

That being said, infertility is a long journey not a sprint. Give your doc a chance.

I agree totally I love LI IVF the Melville office has been wonderful, I actually left RSOfNY because of a bad experience. I have delt with Brenner, Keningsberg, and Kreiner is my main RE . I couldn't be happier with LI IVF . Good luck , you have to feel comfortable with whomever you choose.

Sorry your new RE isn't working out... i would consult with LI IVF and see what they have to say. I don't know if you'd want to go back to RSNY based on your prior experience there. Good luck!

Although RS of NY can drive me crazy at times, I don't mind it there. They know me by name- and by smell- one nurse loves my perfume. They took me as a priority when I had an an appt on class picture day at my school-
although I'm not a fan of certain drs- I made sure I only dealt with the dr I originally went to. Even if he's not there, they email and text him my blood results and he makes my decision on next steps. And he's not quick to give up on me. I was turning 40 down one ovary, extremely low Amh and he didn't once give up on me. I also have good insurance so it helps. The nurses in suite 330 are even better- I was treated like a queen for my retrieval a and transfers.
Every time I needed to speak with dr, he called me back, nurses always called with my blood results on request.
I've heard positives and negatives about all the other surrounding practices. You need to find the least annoying one.

If you decide to go back to RS of NY. Go to Dr. Trivax!!! Make a consult with him. I promise you'll like him- and tell him you do not want to deal with the other RE and the only reason you are considering coming back was bc of him. Trust me he knows the other drs reputation.
