Defective Carter's top - will they accept a return?

I bought a pants and top set from Carter's a week ago and washed it so she could wear it. Yesterday we went to put the top on her and even with all the neck buttons undone, there is no stretch whatsoever at the top so there is no way it would ever get over her head. Obviously there is some sort of defect. Do you think they would take the return even though it was already washed? I have to drive a good 30 minutes to get to Carter's to return it so I thought I would ask for opinions here first.

I think they would. They are usually awesome with returns. Maybe try contacting them via their website or 800 # before you make the trip?

You can send them an email and they will end you a shipping label to return it. They will then send you out a check or store credit for the original price of the item. I have to do that with 3 pairs of pj's I bought for my 3 y/o son...

yup! they will! I just had to do this with one of DS shirts. I washed it, put it on him for the first time... and about an hour after I had put it on him, I noticed a small hole in the back of it. I don't think it would have been from him, because we had just been hanging out at home. I sent them an email, then they emailed me a shipping label to send the shirt back to them. Then, they sent me a gift card for the price of the shirt they have a great customer service!

I think so... I returned two snow suits there last year that the tags said they were ok to put in the dryer and they actually burned!

Call customer service! They were awesome about sending me a full refund for bathing suits that turned color in the wash. Their customer service was really fantastic!
