Who did you take to go register?

Did you take DH or your SO? Or did you go with a BTDT mom? DH is adamant about just us two going but I kind of wanted some expert opinions. DH just got mad at me for even suggesting it. Ugh!!

Re: Who did you take to go register?

I went with DH for the first go around. We just did the stuff that he would be using most and would want a say in, so stroller, carrier, carseat.

I went home, did some more research, and then went by myself to do all the other little stuff that he doesn't have any opinion about.

Re: Who did you take to go register?

I went with DH, didn't go with anyone else. we know a bunch of BTDT moms so I would chime in when I heard of popular items that those friends used. but otherwise we used the recommendations from baby bargains and the people who walked us through the store.

I took my mom! DH didn't really have any preferences, and my mom was basically there for moral support since I did all the research and she wasn't exactly up to date on baby gear.

Who did you take to go register?

DH and I went together and picked out a few things like the stroller and car seat. I have been doing a little research and I am going to go with my mom to finish registering. If you want some good insight into baby products check out the book baby bargains. I found it really helpful.

Who did you take to go register?

I'm going with DH. I'm going to ask the "experts" beforehand for certain products they recommend so I'm prepared.

Re: Who did you take to go register?

We just went this weekend!

I asked a good friend who's a BTDT mom whose hubby used to work at Buy Buy Baby, so DH wanted to get a lot of their opinions. I also got recommendations from several BTDT moms here and on FB. Then I did my research, made comparison charts, and came up with three items of each major category (i.e. stroller, car seat, high chair, etc). DH and I went to the stores and took my list and we decided between what I had narrowed down and what we liked best in the stores.

Who did you take to go register?

My husband and I went together. We did a lot of research ahead of time- Consumer reports, Baby Bargains, etc for reviews. I also emailed my 2 SILs ahead of time and asked them for a list of what they found to be helpful/necessary/a total waste.

Who did you take to go register?

I went with DH. I don't think taking a BTDT is needed. What works for one will not always work for you. Each baby is different and even babies in the same family will be very different.

I would just go and take the list they give you and work from there and the research you do on certain items.

Also know you really don't need 75% of the items on those lists.

Re: Who did you take to go register?

I went with my mom.
DH couldn't have cared less about the stuff I registered for.
I did a ton of research before hand, spoke to BTDTs and went with my mom.

Re: Who did you take to go register?

I went with DH. Afterwards we sent the link to my sister and had her make suggestions on what we missed or might want.

Who did you take to go register?

i went with my best friend, who had a one year old at the time. we picked out the not so fun stuff like burp clothes, bibs, etc. then i went back with DH to pick out the big stuff like stroller, car seat, etc. it was very helpful to go with someone who had just been thru the baby stage. she told me straight up what she found helpful and what was a waste of money.
