escaping from crib
1 1/2 year old keeps climbing out of his crib. There's nothing in it...he's just so strong and pulling himself over. Too young for todddler bed? Whatelse can my friend do? My DD just moved onto toddler bed at 2 1/2 so I don't have suggestions. Thanks!

escaping from crib
My 18 month old just did the same thing and there's no way he's ready for a bed. We flipped the crib so the shorter part is facing the wall. If you have a crib that's shorter in the front try it. It has definitely bought us some time before making the switch.

Re: escaping from crib
My babies changed to twin beds at 17 months, 15 months and 18 months. Not too young.

Thank you for this idea! DD is going to escape from her crib any day now...we're definitely doing this.

Re: escaping from crib
my DD started doing this around 20 months and i definitely didnt want to move her to a bed. first we turned it to the higher side was facing out. when that didnt deter her, my DH got these elastic ties from work (he is in construction) and we used the octagon gate for the christmas tree to make all sides of the crib taller. the ties are safe and she cant undo them, nor can she climb anymore. it kind of looks like fort knox, but she is now 27 months and still in her crib
