Is this a food allergy?

DD had cut up raspberries yesterday and some got on her face. I cleaned her up good but missed a spot on her left cheek. About an hour later her eye was puffy and watery and she was itching it - that whole side of her face was very itchy and red. We gave her Benedryl and within an hour she seemed better. No hives or any other symptoms and wondering if it just irritated her skin? She does have sensitive skin and sometimes strawberries make her face red/rashy. I will consult her ped at her 1 yr appt. but just looking for feedback. Do we try them again in a few weeks?

Sounds like it could be. I would actually try it again today with Benadryl on hand as opposed to waiting. With any other food, I would do the 3 day test. I hope this isn't an allergy for your LO!
