Beta and U/S question
9/22 - Beta 1 - 20 Prog 7.1 9/24 - Beta 2 - 59.7 Prog 6.1 9/27 - Beta 3 - 176 Prog 8.27
Sono Monday.
I know I should be happy but the Nurse that called me was saying how the number is growing slowly. Isn't the number doubling like it should be, it's just that the initial number was so low?
I asked why a sono on Monday and she said to rule out the nasty E word or see something growing. To which I said - oh so you think they will see something at all? To which she said "no". Huh?
Anyone have a successful pregnancy with a situation like this?
Thanks!

Beta and U/S question
they are absolutely fine... the last 2 doubled at 45hrs.. normal doubling time for under 1200 is 31-72 hours
ETA: in my experience you should never ask nurses questions...
but if your sono is monday there is a good chance there wont be anything to see.

Re: Beta and U/S question
i would try not to worry - i know its hard. the numbers seem ok bc they say it should double in 48-72 hours which yours did at those levels though i would think you are veryyy early in the pregnancy so i dont think you would see anything aside from a sac (which they hope to see in the uterus of course). do you have any idea how far you should be?
Two weeks ago i had to go for an u/s to rule out ectopic too bc my progesterone was so low. it measured 4w6d and i didnt really see anything (we saw a sac, yolk and embryo i believe - def no heartbeat yet bc its too soon). thankfully it was not ectopic but the nurse said they have never seen a pregnancy with such low progesterone survive....well i went yesterday for my follow up and saw a heartbeat at 6w2d. so dont let the nurse stress you out.
ETA - can you see if they can squeeze you in today for an u/s? not sure if its just too early and thats why they want you to wait but maybe it can put you at ease over the weekend....

Re: Beta and U/S question
You will most likely only see a sac. At my 6 week US, we were able to see sac and heartbeat.
Fingers crossed for you!
I would not stress it at this point (says the lady who is stressed about every minute of the day since she started her IVF cycle in July!)

Thanks. How low was your progesterone? I've been on crinone 2x a day for two weeks now.
Lmp was 8/23 but I stimmed a long time and had the iui sept 8th. Not sure where that puts me?

Beta and U/S question
You may see a sac, but they like a beta of 1000-1500 to see anything. If you continue to rise like the above you won't even be at 1000 so I don't know why they would have you come in so early?

I don't know much about iui but I guess you would be 4-5 weeks along so maybe you'll see a sac.
My progesterone was 1.4 and then increased to 1.8 which is why they thought ectopic but turns out i was 4w4d at the time. Once they saw the sac in uterus (4w6d) i started progesterone and i havent been tested since. So based on that your numbers look great (my dr said she likes to see anything above 7). Good luck and try to enjoy the weekend
