moms of 2 or more with a 2 story house...

are all the bedrooms on the same floor? DH and i are house hunting and are having trouble finding something we like. my concern is that we will have 2 under 2 (they will be 15 months apart) so i think a house that has at least 3 bedrooms on one floor is a must but dh isnt as concerned with it as i am.

does anyone have their kids on a separate level of the house? do you have any problems with it? its hard for me to imagine my 15 month old and newborn upstairs from me every night

I have 2 under 2 and so do a few of my close friends. I am the only one who has all bedrooms on the top floor. I like it because I am close if I need to go in. I don't like it because I hear everything, every whine, every cry, every sneeze because I am a light sleeper. I also did CIO with my kids and it was brutal for a few days with us all being relatively close.

My friends with the master on the first floor and kids on top love it for the same reasons I don't like being on the same floor. However I know they sometimes wish they were a little closer for a quick run in.

We are also house hunting and have seen a lot of capes we really like but I don't like that the bedrooms are not on the same floor. I'm very afraid of fire and I hate thinking about not being able to get my children out fast enough or the stairs being blocked by fire.
