thyroid and IVF
SO we started BCP's for an IVF cycle. I am supposed to go in tomorrow bc I have been on the BCP's for 2 weeks now. Last visit my thyroid came back slightly elevated. I am supposed to go today for a check up on my thyroid. It was the first appt I have to get. I know they will not have the results by tomorrow, usually it is a week. Do you think my Dr. will put a stop to the cycle until he sees my thyroid results. I am wondering if I can call and have them email me a script to get it done on my own this afternoon rather than the long trip to the office. It is such a pain to wait for 2 hours for blood! Has anyone had experience with this?

Re: thyroid and IVF
Hmmm, shouldn't take a week, just a few days. Maybe you would get results quicker to go directly to the lab. I've called my RE to get bloodwork scripts and they have been really great about faxing a script or writing me one to pick up. Not sure if they would cancel it, probably be better to call RE and inquire about that and take it from there. The way my RE explained it to me was that thyroid issues usually don't interfere with the getting pregnant part, it's the keeping the pregnancy that they worry about.
Good Luck!!
