Birth announcement

How old was DC when you sent announcements out?

DH and I are not doing a welcome party or religious ceremony for DD so most of our family will not meet her until Christmas, thanksgiving, or whenever.
In place, we wanted to send out a birth announcement. We had photos done almost 4 weeks ago but they aren't ready to view yet. At this rate announcements won't be out until DD is 8-10weeks. Is it even worth it at that point? Is that too old?

Re: Birth announcement

Never too late in my opinion. I would just get them done as soon as you can after you pick the picture (s) you want to use.

Re: Birth announcement

It's not too late for anyone who hasn't met her in person!

and a lot of people like to keep those as mementos (at least i do)

go for it!

Re: Birth announcement

I think DS was probably around 6w when we sent out his announcements. Maybe even a bit older. 8-10w isn't too old IMO.

Re: Birth announcement

I sent them at 6-7 weeks. I waited until I got the newborn pictures. People love to see pictures of the baby. I would send it anytime.

I sent mine around 7-8 weeks. I think that's fine.
