Some Disney questions for the pros
Honestly, how bad are the lines? DS is 4. He wont wanna go on a ride if he has to wait an hour to get on. He'll lose interest and if its hot he'll probably have a tantrum. Any tips? We are going end of April.
Also, using the buses...is it horrible or bearable with a double stroller? If its horrible then I'll have to convince DH to spring for a deluxe resort on the monorail.
So far, planning a Disney trip has been very stressful lol.

Some Disney questions for the pros
I wouldn't wait in hour long lines, get there when they open, and use the fast pass system and you should be fine.
The buses are a pain with any kind of stroller IMO. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge and liked the boat to the MK.

Def fast pass for the lines.
We stayed at one of the resorts with monorail access...which was awesome. Stroller went right in..it was the best!

Are schools on break at the end of April? If so then Fast Pass the rides that have the longer lines and get there early or stay late. Lines are shorter during shows and parades.
As for buses you have to fold your stroller up. I would pick a resort that you can get to MK via the monorail or boat.

We are going to do HS and Epcot too. You need the bus from Wilderness Lodge to get to both right?

You can take the monorail from the MK to Epcot. From Epcot you can exit out the back and take a boat to HS... you would just need park hopper tickets to be able to make it work.

Re: Some Disney questions for the pros
If you can be flexible in your dates, I highly suggest you refer to one of the crowd estimation calendars out there as they are fairly accurate. I use this one (http://www.easywdw.com )
They tell you by the day in general what the crowds will be like and then they tell you what each individual park should be like. Hope that helps. By the way, it is Disney so they do a fairly good job of adding interest to the lines for the kids at many of the rides. Also, I have found that the parks are most crowded from 12-3 or 4 so if you can get there early and then plan breaks for mid day your child will last much better (one of the perks of booking a place close to parks is that you can really go back to pool/hotel for rest in middle of day and then come back for parade/fireworks.

Re: Some Disney questions for the pros
I go to disney every year and my kids are 8, 6 and 2 and even the 8 year old has no patience for hour lines. We really take advantage of the fast pass system and honestly even in high crowd days (went over spring break and in mid August)...never waited more than 15-20 minutes for any ride. Most popular rides had fast pass and if they didn't we probably skipped it but never felt like we were missing out. And we do the whole park in a day! We get it done!!! I haven't gone since April not sure if fast pass system has changed but look into in and plan your day to use it.
We never stayed on a monorail line and never felt the need. I have always gone with a double stroller for the most part. Yes - it can be a pain to get on the bus here and there at night with 2 tired kids esp if one is asleep but it was never an issue for us. I'd make one kid walk on to the bus and hold the other and DH would fold up and carry the stroller to get one and off. One kids was always 3/4 or up so them getting up was not an issue - sure they'd complain but too bad - you are comng from Disney you have to be happy a little- lol.

Re: Some Disney questions for the pros
I can't speak to the stroller issue because we stay off site. But my DS is the same way about lines. And we always go in the summer when the crowds are decent. We utilize the fast passes and also the phone app to get on most, if not all, the rides we want. We find that we dart around to different areas throughout the day, but it works for us. We never actually stand in line or more then 25 minutes- and even that's rare.

Re: Some Disney questions for the pros
We go at rope drop and zip around the park the first 3-4 hrs from opening. We ride all the rides we want by 11. From 11-4 the lines get longer (30 min to 2+ hrs depending on time of year). During the first 1-2 hrs, we walk on all rides with pretty much no wait. It may take about 10 min to walk through the line area but we are constantly moving and like to see the line displays. 20 min is about our limit to wait. Then we switch to watching shows, eating, parades, etc. there is no way we are waiting 1 hr for a ride. No 5 minute ride is worth it for us. We get fast passes if we want to ride again later.
I'm a bit surprised that so many families with young children spend the entire day at Disney (like 9am-9pm). For us, about 4-5 hrs in the morning/lunch and then about 3 hrs in the afternoon/evening is plenty for us. DH and I need a break to rest in the middle of the day.

Some Disney questions for the pros
I would never wait in hour lines, and I never do! Who knows what fastpass plus will bring though.
Getting there early or being there late helps the most. DS (2) was good in lines for the most part. There is a lot to see and do, and he just ran around,
