please recommend booster seat
I'm looking for one for grandma's car - not a Britax, a more affordable one. Preferably one with a 5 point harness that can be transitioned to a regular booster. She insists on buying it herself, so I don't want her to break the bank, but want a comfy, easy to use, safe one. TIA

please recommend booster seat
I have the Graco Argos - it's a lot less $$ than the Britax and comes highly recommended by Carseat Chris. It's similar to the Nautilus except it has automatic rethread of the straps (you may be able to find a Nautilus for even cheaper).
I'm still on the fence with it - I find the straps harder to adjust than the Britax and it's hard to fasten but, I bought three and we're sticking with it. DS seems to like it a lot though.

You are not looking for a booster seat you are looking for a car seat that becomes a booster. This is called a combination seat. I am not correcting you other than for everyone that reads this post we know the terms.
Anyway, Yes, i like the Graco Argos, you can get them special prices on line.

It is a very nice seat and most kids find it more comfortable. The stiffness and the fastening gets easier over time.

I do not agree - it is not for every car. Most parents that I have dealt with have not given me positive comments about the seat. Also it does not install as nicely as the Argos.
The question I left out to the original person was what car is the seat being installed in.

Its for an older model Toyota Highlander that does not have Latch . Thank you Chris! Is there another one besides the ARgos you'd recommend? My daughter is almost 4, but little.

That may be a problem - what year is the car? If we have to deal with locking the sea belt the Argos Elite may be the best choice due to the built in locking feature.
FM the information

I have been on this FB site and have spoken with the techs - They will not recommend a seat nor do the endorse seats. They will comment on a seat with regard to the safety of it but they do not get into the details of what seat is best for what car.
They told me they do like the Maestro but do not recommend it over any other seat nor any other seat over it. So basically while they have valuable information on use and safety, they have no position on seats themselves.
For educational information - join. For seat recommendations no specifics.
