Pump membranes
Just read a post about pumping and it was mentioned that changing the white membranes helps with production???
Did i read that wrong? How is that possible to aide in production? How frequently do they need to be changes?

Pump membranes
I never changed mine out, just took them off to wash them. If you're having trouble with the pump you should check to make sure they are put in properly but I never heard that changing them can help (I've been using the same ones for 7 months with no problems)

I was wondering the same thing. One of my membranes ripped the other day, didn't notice until I was pumping & was getting nothing & so I replaced it. It did seem like I got more than usual after that, not sure if it had anything to do with using a new membrane though.

It's not that it aids in actual milk production, but if the membrane is torn or split, the suction will not be nearly as strong and you won't be able to get as much milk out. Anytime I ever noticed a decrease in output from my pump, I switched out the membranes and that fixed it.

Pump membranes
I was getting nothing when I pumped. Changed my membranes and saw a huge difference. Now I have it calendared to change them monthly.
