For those of you who failed your 1st IVF cycle
What made you stay with your RE?
If you switched....what made you switch? How many cycles before you switched?
My RE mentioned something about my lining not matching up with the early blastocysts. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I have a consult tomorrow to go over the results.

Re: For those of you who failed your 1st IVF cycle
After my 1st failed ivf I switched. I have endo and the re had discovered I had an endometrioma on each ovary. This was first time I found out and immediately was concerned as endo can affect egg quality a make a harmful environment for implantation. Every time I went I asked him if I should be concerned and he said no. I liked him so I trusted him even though something was telling me otherwise. Well I did not get a lot of eggs and they were not good quality and I was on stims for a very long time and ha none to freeze. After it failed I sought a surgical opinion and had surgery in match for stage 4 endo.
I did review on sart data and made the switch to a new and this cycle I stimmed less and had more eggs. I do not know outcome but I feel more comfortable and not ignored. That is just my personal situation! Any questions feel free!! Good luck to u!

Re: For those of you who failed your 1st IVF cycle
I am staying with my RE for #2. I feel very confident in them and I love the office and all the staff. When I went for my post IVF consult, he said in his opinion my low amh is the reason the quality of the embryos was not as good as he had hoped. He said it is more a matter of tweaking meds.
I did go for a second opinion though, with liivf. I brought all of my records and the RE there said he would not have done anything differently and there were no other tests he would run. He agreed amh was the issue and tweaking the meds was what they would do too.
One of the main reasons I considered switching was for financial reasons. But I am very happy I am staying with my RE for IVF #2.
Best of luck!!!!!!

For those of you who failed your 1st IVF cycle
I am staying with my RE. I have one failed IVF cycle. i know so many women from all the clinics on here that had a least one failed IVF. plus i I really like my dr. He said things could be perfectly lined up and look great and it still not work and that's what was with me. We're adjusting meds and adding some things. Everyone has a different opinion of the dr, RE office they go to. The best thing you can do is keep yourself informed, ask the questions, etc. you have to be an advocate for yourself. ;)

For those of you who failed your 1st IVF cycle
I live upstate. There are 2 clinics in my area. We went with the one that my ObGyn recommended and took our insurance. My first cycle I definitely hyperstimmed. I was on meds for only a few days prior to the ER, they had to coast me, and many of the eggs were not mature. I was being monitored only by nurses. I chalked the first failed cycle up to it being our first go at it and the fact that I responded too well...
We did another round with them. More or less the same protocol, but they lowered my meds sooner. At the end of the cycle, we wound up with the same result BFN.
When I did a phone consult with my RE, he was going to keep my on the same protocol - I was like WTF.
We then decided to do some research and seek out a second opinion. We went to RMA of NY and really like Dr. Mukherjee. Their stats were much better and they were going to change things up a bit. It was a little difficult in terms of location. I stayed with family for all of August since we do not live in the area. My DH stayed at home until the ER then he joined me.
At first, I was so upset that we needed to be separated - how was this fair? I cried almost the entire drive down to my sister's house. Needless to say, I am currently 8+ weeks pregnant from that cycle so I am very pleased with our decision to change clinics even though at times it was very inconvenient.

My first ivf failed but from what my RE said my e2 was high which could cause my uterus to not be receptive to implantation. I decided to give my office one chance with a fet but I had a consult with a different RE the day after my beta. I was not willing to give them more than that shot. My fet worked so I am glad I stayed. You just never know why an ivf cycle will fail

My first IVF failed but there was no explanation, just odds not in my favor. I have faith in the doctor, and did first FET yesterday.

Thanks! I have some questions I want to ask my RE, and we are sticking with him for another cycle. After that, we'll see. Hopefully, there won't be a third cycle... We're OOP which is making this extra stressful.

I hope your consult goes well! We stayed with my RE because he understood what went wrong and was addressing it. We increased meds, gave them all intramuscular and it made a difference.

My first ivf didn't work and we stayed with our re. I love, love love him. I now have a 3 month old daughter from ivf number 2. I put my faith in him. He was confident I would get pregnant. We learned from the first one. I wouldn't rush to switch doctors after one failed ivf. It's a learning process and if you leave you start all over with a new doctor. But it is a personal decision. Do you have faith in him? How good of a doctor is he? Our doctor has been in the ny mag best doctors issue for ten years in a row.

Re: For those of you who failed your 1st IVF cycle
I think for every person it's different because it depends on their diagnosis. I personally changed after my second failed cycle and in hindsight should have switched after the first. I know the first cycle is basically trial and error. I was so in a rush to get pregnant that I rushed into another cycle right away. I wish I had waited and went to some consults to see what protocol they would have chosen. If you are dealing with low response and poor quality I would take some time to research the best protocol and labs. Also don't be afraid to try doctors in the city. Just going for a consult to pick their brains is always a good idea. Most REs in the city have really early monitoring hours that make it more manageable.

Re: For those of you who failed your 1st IVF cycle
I switched because I had a traumatic experience, also I felt that the doctors and staff were extremely cold and did not think outside the box one bit.......they never even followed up to see where I went! I am very happy with my new doctor!
