Food for On-The-Go

DD is 13 months old now and gets very hungry during the day. I used to EBF, so it was easy and convenient- if she was hungry, in the car or in a bathroom, I would feed her. DONE. didn't need to worry or think about it. We've weaned and now we will be traveling in the car and in and out of doctors offices and other places where I won't be able to feed her purees via spoon. I can give her a normal breakfast and possibly a normal dinner but all snacks and lunch will have to be on-the-go eating prolly in the stroller, car seat or in one of our laps while walking or sitting. What do you do when you need to bring all of that? It seems hard to give any dairy or vegetables. I can bring a banana to have some fruit, and I bought a bunch of snacks like rice cakes, cheerios, puffs, teething biscuits, cereal bars with the jam inside and crackers-- but those are all prepackaged grains. I would do more fruit but I ran out of fruit and don't go shopping until the weekend. What do you normally do? Any suggestions for food on-the-go? I am soooo not used to this!

My DD is older, but some of my go to on-the-go foods include: Cheerios, String Cheese, apple sauce pouches/cups, yogurt tubes (I freeze them-DD prefers them still frozen, but will eat them defrosted-super messy though), frozen peas in a little jar w/ lid, bananas, apples, blueberries, crackers/ whole grain goldfish.

Re: Food for On-The-Go

Try the fruit pouches... Or the ones with pureed foods in them. Easy to use and travel with...

My Dd loves the fruit pouches too, she sucks them down so fast! They sell yogurt ones now too. What about those Fuji apple crisps that they sell at Costco and BJs? They are freeze dried and very yummy.

For lunch on the go, I usually do a yogurt pouch, blueberries, defrosted peas, and a cheese quesadilla. I just make the quesadilla in the morning, let it cool, cut it into strips and wrap it in foil. It's pretty mess free for on the go. Sometimes i'll do open face grilled cheese.

For snacks, I do cheerios, whole grain gold fish, yogurt melts, crackers, pouches, kashi banana chocolate chip bars (way less messy than the jam ones). I'm loving the new earth's best veggie and protein pouches too.

Re: Food for On-The-Go

I usually bring a grilled cheese or sunbutter and jelly sandwich. Grilled cheese if I know they will be eating soon, sunbutter, if not. then I have puffs and pouches handy.
