Burping

I seem to be having the hardest time burping Ali.
It is not that she doesn't have to - she doesn't want to. She wants the bottle - if I take it away she SCREAMS!
Any advice?

I could use some advice too! Parker does that exact same thing! I keep trying and she keeps screaming!!

both my kids were the same way. so i finally asked my pediatrician what i should do. and she told me to just let them drink as much as they want and when they are done to burp them. so thats what i did. i never took the bottle from them in the middle of a feeding. i let them drink till they were content then i burped them. even if that meant drinking the whole bottle. they never had problems with gas either. i used my terrific dr.browns bottles and burped them at the end. and everyone was satisfied.

well, around 4 1/2 months Aly started burping on her own. Maybe she's just not ready to burp?

My DS #2 was like that since birth. We learned very quickly that if we took the bottle out midway he would either cry like a madman or fall asleep and take no more. We started just burping him after the whole bottle. Does she burp after the bottle? B/c as long as shes taking it and is not getting gas pains later, shes probably fine.

I have this issue with Mikey and the pediatrician said to let him tell you when he wants to burp. I thought he was nuts, but you know what-- when he needs to burp, he pulls away.
