need location suggestions for an overnight trip
DH and I are trying to plan an overnight trip next month without the baby but are not sure where we should go.
We only ask that it's not too far of a drive (2-3 hours max from Nassau). Oh, and we're not "sit and relax" type people.
I wanted to do Newport, RI but DH said he prefers something where we can "do something" ( ). He said maybe Hershey Park but i'm not sure i'm in the mood for an amusement park.
Basically, I have no idea what DH wants but I need help trying to come up with ideas.
Please help.
TIA

Are you drinkers? Can you maybe plan something based on winery or brewery tours?

Check out New Paltz, there's a little town with bars and restaurants, they have the Gunks, where there's world class rock climbing and hiking and fishing as well as hot air balloon rides and there are wineries local too. My boyfriend and I go up there at least once a season to do some hiking and more recently climbing and then we hit some wineries, we had an awesome time.

Boston. Its 3 hrs or so but so much to do and see. A total walk able city so you don't have to get in and out of the car all the time.

Maybe Providence Rhode Island instead? There is a lot to do there.
I love Rhode Island and have rarely been there. I feel like there is a lot to do, because if it is somewhere you've never been before- exploring is all part of the fun and new restaurants are always exciting.
I also agree with Boston or somewhere upstate. I've never been to New Paltz but there are areas and resorts all over upstate that have lots of outdoor activities and bars and museums.
But it all depends on what he likes to do? Outdoor stuff? Drinking? Gambling? Sports? Video Games? Swimming? Shopping? Sightseeing?
Then you can find a place that is suited for some of those aspects especially. A nice hotel with a pool and a mall nearby or Atlantic City for gambling and drinking or a place with a few breweries in town or someplace where you can go hiking and play sports or someplace that has an upscale bowling alley and arcade or someplace that has a zoo and multiple museums...
