For those who's kids cried when starting school

When did they eventually stop?
I have my 2.5 yr old and my 3.5 yr old in nursery school (separate classes obv) and they both cried for the entire 2.5hrs on Monday and today (the oldest one did stop eventually but only with like an hour left)
I had to pull the oldest one out at a separation class last year cause it was nov and she was still crying the entire class.

I know once they stop they will enjoy it but wtf. I don't know what else to do. Most of these kids just wave goodbye and go off and play lol

My DD didn't cry the entire time just with drop offs. It was heart wrenching! That along with gripping onto me for dear life. I figured since she goes to daycare it would be a breeze but it's still all new for her.

My DDs teacher said give it 1-2 weeks. Maybe stick a picture of you in their school bags so you feel close? DDs teacher did a family tree on the wall so all the kids have pictures of their family up.
