Meat and eggs... When and how?
My baby will be 8 months next week. The doctor told us we could give him meat. How do I go about doing this? Any recipes anyone would like to share? Also when can I start eggs?
I'm so confused. Babies should come with instruction manuals

I've started giving my 6 month baby food meat (gerber, plum, ella's) all makes them. I'm not sure about eggs and when to give that. My dr. hasn't mentioned eggs yet.

My ped says to introduce egg whites and egg yolk separately - so basically hard boil them and mash up the yolk, and then another day mash up the egg whites

Good idea to hard boil!! I had a failed attempt at seperating the yoke from the white! This seemsmuch easier!!
For meats I gave turkey chop meat. For chicken i slow cooked drumsticks until completely tender and broke it up into small enough pieces for DS to finger feed himself or spoon feed mixed wirh veggies.

I was told no egg whites until 12 months. I used to just make the yolk. Scramble it. Cooked with olive oil.
Meat i made myself because i just couldnt do the pureed meat. It seemed kinda gross to me and something about it coming from a packet kinda skeeved me personally.
I did the same as above. Cooked chicken until tender.

I did baby food chicken noodle or chicken apple or turkey ones at 7 mo. I did whole scrambled eggs at 9 mo. One ped said 9 and another later said 12 mo. They were fine though

DD is allergic to egg whites but not the yolks (the allergy-causing proteins are mostly in the yolks) so I agree with separating them when you start. Do yolks for 3 days, and then a whole egg. 8 months seems like the right age - either your DC is allergic or not. That's when we did it, she was allergic and broke out in a rash around her mouth and her tongue swelled a little, and we didn't give it again until we saw an allergist.
Meat... I used to make her baby food and the meat was so gross. I'd make ground turkey, mix it with some water and then puree it. Eeeew. Then I just started buying it jarred and giving it once a week or so until she was 1 and started eating table food with us.
