Spotting throughout pregnancy - unknown cause
I have had spotting pretty much my whole pregnancy so far, almost 22 weeks. Usually only when I pee do I notice it, occasionally on a pantiliner. Very early on it was just brown blood and sometime around week 11 it turned to bright red and freaked me out. Saw doc, sono and all was well but she put me on pelvic rest. I was waiting for the 2nd tri hoping when the baby and uterus moved up it would take pressure off cervix, thinking that could be the cause. Immediately in 2nd tri things got much better but I have still continued to spot at least once a week. Pinkish discharge when wiping or sometimes some red blood when peeing (sorry tmi).
I had my anatomy scan this week and placenta is not low and def no placenta previa. There was no excess blood in the uterus and transvaginal sono showed a perfectly normal cervix. SO.....I'm not really concerned as much as curious about this spotting with no known source.
Anyone have any words of wisdom or a similar experience? I'm resigned to spotting my entire pregnancy and treating it as my normal even though it freaks me out a little ever time

Spotting throughout pregnancy - unknown cause
I had severe bleeding all throughout my first trimester. there was no cause for it that they could find. no placenta previa, no suc. hematoma..nothing....it was always bright, vivid red...I thought I was miscarrying every single time and I was terrified to go the the bathroom. sometime around the second trimester it stopped. the only thing I was told was that sometimes, old blood from your last cycle can get stuck in your uterus and it could get dislodged during the pregnancy which would account for some of the blood. If everything shows a happy, healthy baby, don't worry!

I had something similar... with DS 1, everytime I did something remotely active, I would spot-- run, BD, etc. But baby was fine! Born at 39 wks and change, at a healthy 8.5 lbs.
