why do we wake up at 5am??

So the past few days my 10 month old has been waking up every day at 5 am and I do not know what to do.

She wakes up at 5 and wants to play but is definitely still tired as then she sleeps for about 2-3 hours around 7:30/8.

Nothing has changed with what time she goes to bed and we also tried putting her to bed almost an hour later than normal but that didn't help either.

Any suggestions are welcome.

my DD has done this her entire life. she is almost 13 months and still wakes up at 4 am (goes back to sleep until 530) then up at 530... but always is tired and needs a very early morning nap. its insane.

Will she play in her bed until she falls asleep again? I know that when DS wakes up too early, I do not get him until he cries. Sometimes he plays for an hour and then falls back to sleep.

My child is ALWAYS up at 5 am! No matter what I do! One night he even went down at 10 pm (something I try not to do, but it was one of those off nights) and I remember saying to DH "At least he'll sleep till 6 or 7" - nope! 5 am we were awake and ready to play.

And because we share a room, he stands up in his crib and immediately whines for me. So I don't even get the luxury of him playing and then going back to sleep. I've just come to the conclusion that he's an early riser (in a house of late sleepers). He'll start rubbing his eyes a little while later, but I have to keep him up till 10 am before I can let him nap (otherwise he'd be too interrupted) and there are days it's torture.

If you find a trick, pass it along to me. DS is 10 months and has been doing this since he's about 3 months.

My twins get up at 6am...I am nervous about what will happen when clocks go back in few weeks

DS has done this from time to time. No idea why. I figure it's some sort of phase as it usually passes and he returns to his normal wake-up time (7:30 - 8:00).
