Old School Fashion/Beauty Tips?
Has anything stuck with you from your teen years? I remember so much stuff from Teen and YM, but not too much of it has stuck.
I do remember reading in Teen when I was about 13 "when you think you're done rinsing shampoo out of your hair, rinse for another 30 seconds just to get it all out" and I ALWAYS think of this article every time I shower.
I also had a friend in Junior high who "taught" me how to pop a pimple. She told me that when it bleeds, its your body's way of telling you to stop, lol. I think of her every time I have to pop one I'm sure she'd LOVE to hear that!

Re: Old School Fashion/Beauty Tips?
I don't have any specific tips I remember, but OMG... YM was my *BIBLE* when I was about 13 or so. I remember studying each issue so intently. And I would always believe the hype about whatever products they would recommend or advertise-- I remember buying Sea Breeze astringent, St. Ives Apricot Scrub in the jar, Maybelline Kissing Koolers, etc. I think I really believed that if I used all this crap, I would suddenly be gorgeous and boys would like me (NOTE: this did not turn out to be true )

*Rinsing my hair in cold water prior to styling to help with shine & body. (I used to do this every day prior to styling my hair, but these days I tend to reserve it for events/nights out.)
*I've been using Alpha Hydrox glycolic acid for 20 years. (I started around 19/20.)
*I was just flipping through some of my old magazines that I saved from my teen years. Yesterday it was Harper's Bazaar from March 92. And I was telling my mom how much I loved the clothes back then and I would certainly wear that stuff now! *

Re: Old School Fashion/Beauty Tips?
I still do the cold water rinse thing for my hair, for special occasions!
I remember reading it in YM.

Does this really work? You just rinse your hair with cold water and then blow dry?

Old School Fashion/Beauty Tips?
A few things stuck with me ... Including cold water rinse like mentioned above.
I never sleep in my make up
I exfoliate feet in shower and put on cream and socks on before bed for my tootsies.
I always use a microfiber turbie twist (bed bath sells them) for my hair when I get out of shower. It really gets out all the water and locks in moisture and then I blow dry. When i don't use it, my hair takes forever to dry and is frizzy.
Recent (or newer) tip from Pinterest - I use contouring for my foundation and blush - makes a big difference. I only do it when I have the time but it's simple.
I put primer on my eyelids and then a little foundation to cover up any redness or veins (my one lid is kinda veiny and im pale) for my eyeshadow and liner doesn't spread during the day
I use a setting spray for my foundation to prevent it from sliding off my face - I love a nice matte and flawless look.
I exfoliate my face daily (gently) to remove dead skin cells and find I don't break out as much as I used to.
I'm not really a make up whore - I rarely buy expensive stuff - i did splurge on the UD naked pallate - but I am a fiend of the best tips and tricks.
Pinterest has new ideas too.
