Seaworld Review
We took our boys to Seaworld yesterday and had a great time. If anyone is going to Florida soon they are running a mid-week promotion for $50 admission. You need to purchase and print your tickets at home. Our first stop was the new Antarctica ride. My kids loved the penguins. I was glad I brought sweatshirts for them, because it was cold! We did the "wild" side and it wasn't wild at all. It was really cute though. I rode on Kraken, which was pretty cool. The first drop is a doozy! We did most of the exhibits- turtles, gators, dolphins, stingrays, manatees, sharks, kiddy rides, arctic, etc... We only saw two shows. The dolphin one was great! Very entertaining and a lot of action. And then we finished the day at Shamu stadium. The whales are still impressive, but it wasn't as good as it used to be. The trainers no longer get in the water and do tricks with the whales. I'm assuming its ever since a trainer was drowned by a whale. And a word of advice, sit in your seat or a minute after the show. Let the crowds get lighter and then head out. Don't follow the heard across the bridge. Go towards the kiddy land and go around the long way. It's a little more walking, but there are no crowds to contend with. After much debate (because the reviews aren't great) we decided to surprise the kids with lunch at the Shark restaurant. The kids thought it was so cool and they sat us right in front of the tank. We actually enjoyed our lunch. The kids had chicken fingers and steak- both were pretty good. DH and I ordered coconut shrimp and gnocchi. DH had a salad, I had the lobster bisque. Then we shared a NY strip- it was tasty, but over cooked.
