Grading question
When I had my first IVF, I had 34 retrieved, 19 matured, 11 fertilized and 4 frozen. However after 2 frozen transfers (I had to miss my fresh transfer bc of OHSS). I have one left and I believe the quality of all my eggs were not great (not terrible just not great). Has anyone seen the grade change of their eggs in another cycle of IVF? I am hoping for some better letters this time around.

Re: Grading question
Is it your egg quality or embryo quality?
Many factors affect embryo quality:
1. stimming protocol 2. egg quality 3. sperm quality 4. lab
Our first two cycles had very poor quality embryos - like grade C and/or D. Both of those resulted in BFNs. Our most recent cycle had 2 good quality embryos 4 AA and 3 BA, which resulted in our BFP. So it is definitely possible to have a change in your embryo quality.
We changed labs and modified my medication this cycle.
Good Luck!

Grading question
My second IVF cycle, my embryos were much better quality. They can definitely be different from cycle to cycle!
Good luck!

Re: Grading question
Your 1st round sounds much like my first round. 24 eggs retrieved, 18 fertilized, developed terrible OHSS so we froze 4 blasts. Quality of the 4 was good. Did 2 fets, both reslulting in chemicals. Changed re, changed protocol, b/c i was determined to do a fresh transfer. With a lot less meds, i had 12 eggs retrieved ( this was purposeful to prevent ohss) and about 6 fertilized. I believe we have a fertilization problem but still undiagnosed b/c my eggs look fine and dh is fine. We finally did our first fresh which gave me my 21mo DD. I dont know if this answers yiur question about quality of embryos, but for me I believed the ohss and very high E2 levels affected my first round of embryos. I know people want as many eggs as possible but for some of us that compromises a lot and can get us very sick. We took a risk going for less eggs and it worked - I still deeloped ohss but was much much less severe. As I am thinking of no2 not sure what protocol we are going to use. Good Luck!!!

Re: Grading question
Thanks, my past doctors were very strange when I asked what grade they were. (I didnt know much about the grading process in general) when I did find out they said it so quickly, Dh and I were like ok that doesn't sound good. I'm happy to hear by changing the meds it can help. Lets hope the second ivf is the charm!
Thanks for getting back to me.

This. I was also put on metformin and dh on meds too to increase embryo quality. It worked.
