moms - is there anything you hope to do differently this time around?
Seeing as now you have a little more experience now, is there anything you think of for baby #2+ that you would do differently than dc#1?
For me I would like to go a more natural route for birth. DH is the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" type so he's not really feeling that idea...but we need to discuss further.
I think I will also have an earlier bedtime from the start.

I hope to not have to be induced this time, I had high bp related to pregnancy with DS and had to be induced 2 weeks early bc it was no longer being controlled by meds. It was a LONG induction and I'd really like to avoid that this time.

Eat healthier and NOT gain 50+ lbs this pregnancy. The first time around I used pregnancy as an excuse to eat ice cream every night and indulge my every craving.

I ate like a construction worker when I was pregnant with DD... we were redoing our house and didn't have a kitchen so it was either take out or just eating out. I gained 38 lbs and I swore that next time I would eat healthier.
Well this time I really have, and have still been walking. I started out gaining less but now I am exactly what I was with her, 28 lbs at 28 weeks!
As for what I would like to do differently... a ton! I am going to allow people to help me more, especially with 2. I am going to not let almost a year go by before I get a haircut lol. And I plan on nursing again but am not going to be going crazy to make sure I am home. I also want to start working out again ASAP bc it really helped my baby blues.

Hoping for a natural delivery this go round. I had issues last time and ended up with an emergency c-section. Hoping to breastfeed longer. Went 9 months the first go round, would like to go a full year. Thinking seriously on hiring a nanny instead of using daycare. We will see how this pans out.

Re: moms - is there anything you hope to do differently this time around?
definitely agree on the breastfeeding. I tried so hard and it just didn't work out with #1. my supply was so low. but this time I'd like to use every resource I can to make it work. I really want to do it!
I would like to get out of the house more early on. With DS in the newborn stage I stayed home alot when DH wasn't with me to help. It took a few months for me to realize just how freeing it was to get up and go. This time I'd like to get out more right from the start.
I NEED to get more organized. I fly by the seat of my pants for everything. I have no structure. I really would like to be more active and get more organized and productive with my days.
I would like to make more time for myself. I am a martyr and never go out, never pamper myself, I can't remember te last time I had a haircut. I am realizing now that me focusing solely on DS is not helping anyone...I need time to decompress...even if it just means a bath without being barged in on

If this LO uses a binky I plan on getting rid of it sooner than I did with #1.
The rest, we will just see how everything goes. Now that I know what to do, I will be more relaxed.

Re: moms - is there anything you hope to do differently this time around?
This time around I'm hoping to be better with the baby's sleep schedule and possibly have them sleeping in their crib from the beginning (the nursery is right across the hall). Sleeping arrangements were a little too laid back with my dd and now it's tough to correct the bad habits. I also agree with getting out of the house earlier on. I would like to take my daughter and the baby on short walks from the beginning and also try to get used to babywearing so that I can multitask a bit better.

I would like to BF more. I BF DD for 3 months and then pumped until 14 months - I would like to do a mixture of both this time around!
