Contractions at 31 weeks??
It is probably Braxton Hicks contractions, which are practice contractions.

I haven't had any yet that I know of, but its basically the uterine walls contracting to prepare for birth. They shouldn't be excruciating, but I hear they cause minor discomfort. I have always heard that drinking water and lying down will help. I have heard when labor begins and the real contractions come YOU KNOW.
They will ease up

Contractions at 31 weeks??
Yes it is possible. Sounds like braxton hicks if you could continue comfortably. Just make sure to keep hydrated. I had serious contractions last week, most uncomfy feeling ever and had to go to the ER. They told me to keep hydrated and since, I've been drinking plenty of water

Contractions at 31 weeks??
I would call your doc. This happened to me at 29weeks and it wasn't bh. They were full on contractions and I almost went into labor. If its happening frequently and is more painful than just tightening I would definitely get checked out (while doing so don't stop drinking water and lay down)
