First day of School!
WHOOHOO
she has a princess light up backpack.
We had meet the teacher last week on her birthday (22nd) then started school this morning. We could come as early as 7:05 which we did. They didn't let us in until 7:15. Took her to her class, showed her to her own spot in the room, put up her backpack and coughed up our donation of alphabet beads (they had a "GIVING TREE" at the meet the teacher night). She asked if we were going to leave her but we didn't. Took her out for breakfast in the cafeteria, got her lunch account number and put it on her badge. Took her back once we heard the warning bell. She got so excited! At her class, said I had to go to work so hug/kiss and that was it. Just had to promise I'd come back for her (duh)
She was GREAT
no tears
They had a parent "yahoo/boohoo" session until 8:15 for parents to sit and chat and provide support but they were all these chummy moms who gossiped and fathers who huddled. Hubby and I felt out of place and left with our coffee/juice and donut.
Can't WAIT to pick her up and hear about her day!
Sorry about the blah sign. I just decided two seconds before to put something up to mark the occassion. I'll keep it up through the years if I can remember. I didn't do the month by month thing but school years I think is cool.

Adorable!!! Hope she has a fabulous first day!!! Can't believe your DD and mine are starting kindergarten. That's crazy!!!..........feels like we were just on the pregnancy board awaiting their arrival.

Now we are parents of school-aged children! 
I regret nothing... NOTHING. i always felt those younger years would fly by and I never wanted to regret holding her too long or letting her stay up late. I still don't. Wish i could cuddle with her more if anything. She rarely lets me but she does smoosh her face against me like she's a kitten asking for love. She will grab my face and push my cheek to hers and sigh in contentment and say "I love you mama" 
Now she's in the 'big school' so exciting, so bitter sweet, so amazing! A whole new set of adventures await!
Buckle up.. its gonna be a wild one for sure!

I know!!..........it goes TOO fast!! I was looking though her baby/toddler pics the other day and I was just blown away that FIVE YEARS have passed since she was born. I remember everything in those pics like it was yesterday!!!
I'm so nervous about her starting Kindergarten, wish I could keep her with me forever. Two weeks from today!!.........going to need to stock up on tissues, I'm going to be a mess!!
