School bus fears (for mommy, not child)
Anyone else a little scared about their DC taking the bus? I am. I don't express it though and DS is so excited. I just feel like it's scary because I'm trusting someone else to transport and take care of my child, I suppose. Rationally I know it's fine ... Just having a tiny bit of anxiety about it.
I'm so not ready for this. :(

Re: School bus fears (for mommy, not child)
A little scared???!!!................I'm freaking the eff out. I am soooooo nervous about putting my DD on the bus. Nobody but DH and I have ever driven her, now some stranger will be taking her all over town. I'm dreading it.
I'm nervous too because it's K through 6 on the bus. The Kindergarten kids are in the front and the 6th graders in the back buuuuuut I still hate they are on the same bus at all. Such a big age difference, I don't really like it.
Two weeks to go.........she's excited, I'm a nervous wreck. I'm not ready for my baby to go out on her own.

My 3 year old will be on the bus in September.
I'm a lot more comfortable with a professional bus driver than having family (who are aggressive drivers in smaller cars) drive him.

Yup, nervous for the same reasons as you and as a teacher I am well aware that many of the problems (bullying etc.) in school happen on the bus. I just want my baby to be safe and happy forever

Yes! It's only K kids on the bus but almost 40 minute bus ride. I am not happy about that and may drive DC to school every day. I also don't like how the kids jump around on these busses and don't sit still

I was (last year)! My dd was only 4 going off to K, and I busted into tears as the bus drove away. Believe it or not, the big kids are pretty good to the kindergartners. You'll get used to it. It's very hard letting go!

Do you have to use the bus ? Is driving them yourself an option ? That is what my parents did when I was little.
