Spotting at almost 30 weeks
DH and I bd last night and after there was a good amount of blood. I called the emergency line for my ob and the on call doctor said as long as it wasn't like a period and I wasn't contracting it was ok to wait until this morning to get checked.
I went in this morning and saw my OBs partner who I'm really not a fan of. He said my cervix is long and closed and baby is fine and sent me on my way. I just don't feel reassured. I never had this with DS and I feel pressure and cramping  I feel like he brushed me off and said it was just from last night. Has anyone else had this happen?

Spotting at almost 30 weeks
Not BTDT but I've heard that it can be common after BDing.

I had bleeding in my first pregnancy - it was fine! As long as it isn't heavy bleeding like a period. I also had spotting and cramping after any internal exams i think it's ok!

Thanks ladies. The spotting doesn't worry me as much as the cramping. I'm just taking it easy today....well as easy I can with a 1 year old!

I had cramping and increased discharge at around 29 weeks. Also went in, everything was fine. Drinking tons of water can help but I think as we get later cramping becomes more regular. If the doctor said it looks fine I wouldn't worry and I have definitely heard that BDing can cause spotting!!!!

I'm trying to drink lots of water today!! Still have some light spotting. It's always scary to see! Hopefully it stops soon. I think it'll be a while before we BD again!!!!

With DD#1 and this pregnancy I had spotting several times. This past week at 21 weeks I had spotting (with clots) and cramping. Went to dr and he did sono and said it was bc of low lying placenta which is basically on top of my cervix.
My dr always says as long as you can determine the source/reason (placenta or BD, etc) of the bleeding/spotting its much less concerning. Interestingly, he also said the spotting is more worrisome than the cramping bc you can have cramping from stretching, growing, etc. and that is normal unless its contractions.

i had bad cramping no spotting at 32 weeks, i had over exerted myself, and it went away. Try and take it easy today, and drink alot of water.

I think it was that too. We went for a long walk after dinner also so I think I overdid it a bit.

Was it brown blood? I had that with DD1 after BD'ing around 33 weeks. I was so freaked out because it seemed like a lot but the doc said I shouldn't be concerned.

No it was bright red blood. Today it's brownish so I hope it's coming o an end!

Spotting at almost 30 weeks
BDing can cause spotting. When we would BD, I would spot red blood (just when I wiped) and would have some cramping but it would go away shortly after. If you are REALLY concerned and do not trust the doctor that checked you, you can go to Labor and Delivery and ask to be checked out and hooked up to a monitor (or even at your dr's office they should have the monitors).
