question about pregnancy of close friend

Someone very close to me just told me that she is 4 weeks pregnant. I am living abroad, but would like to do something special to acknowledge the occasion. Any ideas? Was there anything you got early on in your pregnancy that was particularly special/helpful/unique?

I'd wait till all its well with first apt and then consider a baby book ..like what to expect when expecting...and some lollipops at babies r us for morning sickness

I would get her a subscription to a pregnancy or parenting magazine.

I like the magazine idea but would wait till her first appointment just in case.

id wait until 12 weeks thn get her a mommy gift maybe a prenatal massage for later on or magazine is nice idea

When a friend of ours told us she was pregnant I got her a gift card to Motherhood Maternity. She said she didn't want to spend money on clothes and when I gave her the gift card she was relieved because she knew she would HAVE to get a couple staple pieces.
