How do I cover crib platform? Picture inside.

We lowered DD's crib yesterday, had to take off the bed ruffle because it was way too long. Now, you can see the wood platform that the mattress sits on. Any suggestions for covering it? I was thinking of buying ribbon, but curious if there are any other solutions.

In the pic below, I'm talking about the piece of wood that is sitting under the mattress.

Is the crib up against the wall on the other side - maybe let the ruffle hang down longer on the inside and that way it will look nice on the exposed side

That's what we did when we first lowered the mattress. Then we ended up just removing the dust ruffle all together because it was too much of a pain every time i'd take the mattress out. I'd have to arrange the ruffle just so and it was never even.

The crib mattress is close enough to the floor that you don't really notice the 'platform' bit anyway

Put a sheet on that so it stays covered

What if you folded it under and ironed it at the point where it now hits the floor to create a seam and then used velco strips to keep it in place. That way you could still use the skirt without it hanging down or actually hemming it.

I left the ruffle on - I just tucked some of it under the crib.

I used a long strip of stick-on Velcro in the center of the dust ruffle, to "hem" it. In the "platform" area, where the mattress sits and covers it.
