uh oh, i ate sushi...

yesterday, i went for sushi with friends. i got some vegetarian rolls which were delish. but they mixed one of my friends regular sushi rolls (which had raw tuna and some raw whitefish) on the plate.

i specifically asked the waiter which was the tuna, but apparently he pointed to the wrong one

anyway, i ate 2 rolls before my friend questioned me......i thought the tuna was a mushroom!!

do i need to be concerned? call my doctor?

never did this before, so im not sure how serious (or not) this is.......

help!

I wouldn't be concerned. Sushi fish in the US is flash frozen which kills listeria. It's only a concern if they leave it out for some time.

Unless you start feeling sick I wouldn't be concerned at all.

Sushi is a risk because of food poisoning, and you would know by now if you had that! No big deal!

It is ok.... i know someone who ate sushi her entire TWO pregnancies and she and both babies are fine.

I ate sushi all last pregnancy, it was such a craving! The only sushi risk is food poisoning, which you would know about by now and mercury, which two tiny pieces of fish are not a big deal.

I would definitely not worry about eating 2 pieces. What I don't get is how fish could taste like mushroom! LOL

I actually ate sushi in the second tri and I was fine. I couldn't shake the craving, I got it from a reputable place. I think you'd need to eat a TON of sushi to have any really negative effects on the baby.

I had sushi for lunch yesterday on purpose. Sushi doesn't harm the baby only you getting sick from bad sushi then it becomes an issue.

You're fine. Most Asian Mama to be's eat it as a regular diet. I would just avoid high mercury fish in large doses lol. If you know the place and know they have good food practices enjoy! I would rather eat sushi from a good place then a salad from a hole in the wall dump.

I ate sushi with LO and he's perfect. I eat it now with #2. The risk is on mom, not baby. Same food poisoning risk as anyone else, you'd just be hit harder.

i eat the sushi once a week. more or less. soo good.
