Open to suggestions
The first of our friends is turning 40 in October. We suggested something somewhat local like AC, Foxwoods, or Newport. She doesn't want that. She wants to go away-away for her bday. She doesn't know what she wants to do, but she knows exactly what she does NOT want to do. No Aruba, no Jamaica, no Bahamas, no DR, no Mexico. I was thinking maybe Bermuda, but the weather won't be too warm in late October/early November.
I'm trying to think of something that would fit, but not be too expensive. It also needs to be a direct flight because no one s going to be able to do more then a long weekend at most. It's tough because we would all like to help her celebrate, but she is single and most of us have families and kids.

are there any short-ish cruises out of NY or NJ to bermuda? I don't think it will be too cold that time of year, I might be wrong though.
Drive up to Montreal?

I live in Charlottesville and I think this is a GREAT idea. It's good for both singles and married people.

Austin, TX (A friend had his bachelor party there and he said it was a great trip.)
ETA: New Orleans is probably what I would pick myself. Maybe even something like Grand Canyon and then drive to Vegas.

I wouldn't go to Bermuda at that time. 
I believe it's 60s-70s at that time of year.
